Murfreesboro Woman Missing!

The Murfreesboro Police are seeking help from the public in locating a woman who went shopping Thursday (12/6/07) afternoon and has not been seen since.  69-year old Marsilene Smith left her home at 406 Village Green around 1:30 in the afternoon.  Officer Kyle Evans told WGNS News there was concern for her well being since it was cold overnight, and the woman has a severe case of diabetes and is insulin dependent.  He explained that if she does not take the insulin, she could become disoriented.  Marsiline Smith is 5-feet 4-inches tall, weighs 139 pounds, has short brownish-red hair, blue eyes and wears glasses.  She left home wearing a long-sleeve top, blue jean jacket and jeans along with black zip-up boots.

Police patrolling the area discovered her abandoned beige colored 2000 Lincoln Navigator around 7:00 o’clock Friday (12/7/07) morning in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Rutherford Boulevard.  Surveillance video from Wal-Mart shows a man drove Smith’s car into the parking lot about an hour after she left home to go shopping.  Video shows the Lincoln Navigator was parked at Wal-Mart on Rutherford Boulevard at 2:28 Thursday afternoon (12/6/07). The SUV is being examined by local detectives and will later be taken to the lab at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Here are pictures from the surveillance video at Wal-Mart on Rutherford Boulevard.   As the Lincoln Navigator was pulling into the parking lot, a white 4-door sedan pulled alongside the big beige colored SUV.  (see photo above red line)  If you were in the white sedan, did you see the person in the Lincoln?  (photo below red line shows a close-up of the white 4-door sedan. Shortly after the Wal-Mart parking lot surveillance video took these two pictures, it shows the beige 2000 Lincoln Navigator parking beside several BUDGET RENTAL trucks.  Did you see anyone getting out of this large SUV?  Phone Murfreesboro Police at 893-1311.

Then a male takes a bicycle from the Lincoln Navigator and rides away.  This is the “person of interested”.  If you saw this person or have information, call the Murfreesboro Police at 893-1311.

Note:  She has a daughter who lives in Shelbyville, and could possibly have traveled in that direction.  Marsilene Smith is originally from Covington, Tennessee and could have traveled there as well.
