Three U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grants totaling over 251-thousand dollars, will allow the Murfreesboro Housing Authority to continue to provide housing for homeless persons with mental disabilities. Congressman Bart Gordon says HUD’s Continuum of Care Assistance programs provide funding for transitional housing, permanent housing and a variety of supportive services for homeless persons, helping them on their way to becoming more self-sufficient. The Murfreesboro Housing Authority is able to provide housing for 40 individuals or families in Rutherford County through HUD funding.
