LaVergne Drug Deal…Shooting

La Vergne police have arrested five people on various charges stemming from an alleged drug deal that went bad last Thursday afternoon (5/1/08), according to LPD Chief Ted Boyd. The victim of the shooting allegedly went to a home at 606 Sycamore Drive to take business cards about his auto detailing business. What he was really there for, according to Chief Boyd, was to sell his mother’s Morphine she takes for cancer. While there, the suspects — Steven Dotson, James Miller and a 15-year-old juvenile — decided to take the victim’s money, wallet and drugs. The 15 year old allegedly shot at the victim’s feet three times, Boyd said. The victim was not injured seriously, but has been arrested for filing a false report, the sale and delivery of a schedule II and III drug and the sale of Morphine. Steven Dotson, who originally gave his brother’s name as his own, was charged with criminal impersonation for using a false name, aggravated robbery, and reckless endangerment. He was also wanted by Metro Nashville on other charges. James Miller and the juvenile were charged with aggravated robbery and reckless endangerment. The juvenile’s mother, Teresa Callis, was also picked-up for having warrants from the Metro Police.
