2,000 STATE JOBS to be lost
A massive amount of money will be saved by the state of Tennessee in the near future. Governor Bredesen announced plans to lay off some 2,000 employees. Cuts in employment will be voluntary and offer a buyout incentive. The cut represents a 5% decrease in the states workforce.
No word on exactly how much will be saved but speculation is that the cut will represent over $10-million dollars in savings.
