Each Local YMCA Names Outstanding Volunteer
The Rutherford County Family YMCA and North Rutherford YMCA Ronald Reagan Family Center have each named their “Volunteer of the Year”. Bricke Murfree (left) was chosen by the Murfreesboro facility and Mack Barrett (right) by the Smyrna group. They will be honored at the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Celebration on Saturday, May 17th. Rutherford County Family YMCA Board Chair Barbara Sutton said, “Bricke is a tremendous member of our volunteer team. He provided invaluable leadership to our Humanitarian of the Year Breakfast, leading the charge in acquiring sponsorships and community support totaling $24,000 in only its second year.” North Rutherford YMCA Executive Director Gary Cobbs noted, “Mack is known as the ‘Magic Man’ at North Rutherford. Whatever you ask him to do…he will do it! He is a tremendous resource to our mission-awareness tasks. His passion for our YMCA is unmistakable.” YMCA of Middle Tennessee President and CEO Journey Johnson commented, “Both of our Rutherford County honorees are outstanding representatives of the 5,979 volunteers who make it possible for the YMCA to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.”
