20-Year Old Charged With Attempted Murder

Around lunchtime last Wednesday (5/7/08)  you heard news bulletins on WGNS about what was reported to be a drive-by shooting on Longview Drive.  The dispatch at the sheriff’s office was told that a named suspect fired two shots at the home.  Deputies rushed to the scene, and later detectives found shotgun holes around a window.  That was just a few feet from where a 3-month old infant was sleeping.  William Chris Jones reportedly sent a text message to Brandie Giblin and William Bright Davis to come outside.  She is the 19-year old mother of the infant, and lives on Cobble Court, Davis lives at the Longview address.  The sheriff’s department was knowledgeable of the suspect and knew where he lived.  20-year old William Chris Jones was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of Davis, along with aggravated assault on Giblin.  When sheriff’s deputies arrested Jones, he declined to make any statements.  William Chris Jones is being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on $250,000 bond.  His hearing is scheduled in General Sessions Court on June 10th.
