FolkFest: Indonesian Visas Denied…More
With about a month until the International FolkFest begins in Murfreesboro, one of the three visiting groups has a major problem and a second is facing a challenge. Cripple Creek Cloggers founder Steve Cates reports that the entire group from Indonesia has had their visas denied. India, the group who plan to stay in a part of the new Correctional Work Center, have an interview about traveling to the Volunteer State. That is slated for Monday, May 19th, at the embassy. Cates notes that all is approved for Germany’s troupe to visit Murfreesboro for the June 15th through 22nd event. During the week, visiting groups will visit churches, nursing homes, some schools and other public places. There will be an evening performance at the Leanna Community Center at 7:00 o’clock Friday night, June 20th. All groups will be performing and tickets will be on sale at the door. The festival will conclude in Cannonsburgh from 4:00 to 8:00 Saturday afternoon, June 21st. Public performances will be given by all groups. Attendants will also be able to purchase global foods and crafts.
