Saturday’s Bible Park Job Fair Successful

As Bible Park USA expands its planning phase, the developers held a Job Fair on Saturday (5/10/08)  at Murfreesboro’s DoubleTree Hotel.  The firm’s spokesperson Terri Sterling commented, “The Job Fair was a huge success. While we await the entitlement decisions of the Rutherford County Commissioners, we must begin identifying and recruiting the most qualified staff. A well-trained staff will be the foundation for a successful park.”  Bible Park officials spoke with 113 potential employees during the weekend job fair.  Sterling noted that in addition to those, there have been 213 employment applications filed.  She estimated that 85 per cent are from Rutherford County residents.  Managing Director of Safe Harbor Holding and Park Developer  Armon Bar-Tur said, “We are very pleased with the caliber of talent Rutherford County and the surrounding area has to offer. Many applicants have held senior positions with Opryland, Universal Studios, EMI Christian Music Group, and Whirlpool.”  Within five-years estimates show that Bible Park USA will have 250 full-time positions along with 1,200 seasonal jobs.  That translates to an annual payroll of $26-million.  Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Interim President Stephanie Brackman commented, “There is alot of interest in the park.” Noting they receive many phone calls about how to apply for a job there.  In addition to the direct jobs, accepted industry formulas estimate that 2,633 additional full-time positions would be created with positions at new hotels, restaurants and other tourism service areas.  That’s an additional annual income of $124-million.

Strange to me, I only saw approximately 8-10 possible people from 10:00 til 1:30 enter the Double Tree and come back out. There were alot if people with luggage going in and out. The applications Terri Sterling is referring to must have been submitted to them before the actual Job Fair.

What a horrible trick to play on people having a MOCK job faire just for the PR coverage, calling this utter failure a success is such a slap in the face of intellegence. I am so very disappointed in WGNS for doing this to the good people of this county. Shame on you for being part of this scam.

Wormy…I talked to Armon in person at this fair about the possiblity of bringing us in with the possum ranch. He was really excited. The only issue he could see was we have to have some kind of a “bond”. He said it was for our protection in case one of the critters escaped and attacked somebody and caused bodily injury. He’s probably right. When Mr. Bourdoux gets on that gun powder, he is hard to handle and no telling what he might do. Did I tell you about him slashing the tires on Homer’s tractor last week? Man that was a mess. Had rubber all over the pasture. It looked like I-24 right after a truckers caravan.

I hear you brother…hey maybe we could call Grumpys Bonds….I hear they are really good….they put up a bond your Uncle Jessie that time he was caught poaching possums pelts in Pelham

I am going to have a job faire at the Double Tree next month for the new monorail system that will be built around the square and up and down main st starting in 2011. It will bring students down town from MTSU and provide a historic look at the main street homes, it is a precursor to the subway system planned to follow the major roads to cason lane, thompson lane and rutherford Blvd….planned for 2015 if permits proceed and funding is secured. First of it’s kind project, the ground breaking will be the new Old Fort/Broad St cloverleaf.
