Christiana Elementary’s New Principal

Julie Benson, an assistant principal at Christiana Elementary and Christiana Middle schools, has been named the new head principal at the elementary school beginning with the 2008-2009 school year.   Benson succeeds current Principal Sue Parsley, who will retire at the end of the school year.  For the past three years, Benson has split her time as an assistant principal at both Christiana schools. Previously, she helped open LaVergne Middle School while serving as the dean of students and as an art teacher. Before coming to Rutherford County Schools, Benson taught art in Wilson County Schools and the Lebanon Special School District.
